Buying / Office Administrator

We are looking for an enthusiastic Buying/ Office Administrator to join the Buying team based in the Swindon head office.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the buying team on a daily basis
  • Managing and responding to enquiries and requests by phone or email
  • Data entry into Company software and Excel spreadsheets
  • Efficiently process orders
  • Filing and additional paperwork
  • Chasing delivery dates
  • Placing monthly stationery order
  • Pricing & typing up aggregate & concrete orders
  • Interaction with other departments
  • Attention to detail in all tasks

Essential Skills Required

  • Qualified to GCSE level with Grade C/Level 4 or above for English & Maths
  • Minimum 3 years administration experience
  • Proficient at Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong administrative and planning skills
  • Ability to be a team player, while also having the ability to work independently
  • Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in communicating with all levels of personnel/stakeholders
  • Conscientious approach to work with the ability to scrutinise and self-critique own work
  • The ability to be flexible and evolve with the ever-changing nature of the industries within which we operate

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within the construction industry
  • Experience of working within a Buying Department
